About This App

First College Portal is an internal app operated by First College, the college ministry of First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa. It is used by staff, volunteers, and students to access ministry tools. It is not a public service and is not intended for general public use.

Information We Collect

When you sign in, we collect your phone number or Microsoft account information to authenticate your identity. For new users signing in by phone, we may also retrieve your name, email address, and profile photo from Planning Center Online if your phone number is on file there — this lets us pre-fill your profile so you don't have to enter your information manually. If your number is not found in Planning Center, you will be prompted to enter your name and email directly.

We also record sign-in events and periodic session activity (roughly every 30 minutes of use) to help us understand how ministry tools are being used.

SMS Authentication

If you sign in using your phone number, we send a one-time verification code via SMS. This service is provided through Twilio and Supabase. We use your phone number only for authentication — we will never send marketing messages, announcements, or any other communications to your phone number.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding service providers such as Twilio and Supabase.

Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You will receive 1 message per login attempt. You may reply STOP to opt out of SMS verification at any time.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only to authenticate you, maintain your account within First College's internal tools, and provide a connected experience across apps (for example, signing in once on the portal gives you access to the library app without signing in again). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following services to operate this app:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• Twilio — SMS delivery for one-time login codes
• Microsoft Azure AD — optional staff sign-in via Microsoft accounts
• Planning Center Online — profile lookup by phone number on first sign-in

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data handling practices.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you need your account or data removed, contact us at the address below.
